I am so excited to announce that there is another MC Pony release on the way.
"Born to Die" is an evocative 'first-person' account of a broiler chicken's sad existence. Co-written with fellow Sydney-sider Robert Pearce, and featuring Tayberry as guest vocal artist, we hope this track will help spread a greater awareness to the reality of 'broiler farming'.
The single will be released officially late next week but you can already give it a spin on YouTube or Facebook.
Full credits for the song:
- Born to Die – MC Pony feat. Tayberry
- Written by Robert Pearce and Elizabeth Usher
- Guitar – Robert Pearce
- Programming, bass & additional guitar – Sven Tydeman
- Produced by Sven Tydeman and Elizabeth Usher
- Mastering by Kathy Naunton, dB Mastering
Your first chance to see it performed live will be at The Gasoline Pony on this coming Wednesday, 15th March!
Gig details:
Date: Wednesday 15th March 2017
Time: 7 pm – 10 pm – MC Pony is the headliner for the evening so I’ll be on stage around 9pm. And once again I'll be joined by the talented Renée Jonas for beautiful chorus harmonies.
Venue: The Gasoline Pony (how appropriate!!) 115 Marrickville Road, Marrickville, NSW 2204
The night was booked by The Gasoline Pony and they have chosen the supports acts: Rita B and Boleyn.
Here’s the poster Elmo at The Gasoline Pony created – with thanks to Zoe Baumgartner for my press shot, which was taken at last year’s Sydney Vegan Expo.
Come along for the latest instalment of my trademark "mindful rhymes for kinder times"! The Gasoline Pony has some vegan options marked on the menu and I can attest to their tastiness!
Also it’s significant timing to release a song of this nature because tomorrow Saturday 11th March is the Australian date for the March to Close All Slaughterhouses. Here is the Sydney event page but you can find other marches happening around the country!
Finally – I’m loving the cover art for the single and I have to give a HUGE thank you to Jo-Anne McArthur of We Animals for the use of her stunning photograph. The video’s footage is all courtesy of Animal Liberation NSW (http://www.aussiechickens.com.au/). Kristin Lajeunesse from Will Travel for Vegan Food has helped me with the graphic design for the cover art and also all the editing of the music video. She also worked on my recent “Icing on my Cake” video so go check that one out if you need a bit of an antidote to the sad themes of “Born to Die”!
